Fall Musical 2020, The Wizard of Oz

Minerva Arts Center is pleased to announce our Fall 2020 musical workshop

“The Wizard of Oz”


Actors from Grades 1 and up are invited to join us for this exciting Performance Workshop, which culminates in a full-length musical production.

Tuition: $325 (Due at first rehearsal)

Registration must be submitted by 10/13/2020


  •  Location: TBD
  • Workshop will begin October 17th and performances are November 2oth & 21st.

  • Rehearsals are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1 PM to 5 PM.

  • Rehearsal dates are as follows: Oct 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, 31st, Nov 1st, 7th, 8th, 11th* 14th, 15th. (Tech week Nov 16th-20th TBD)

*Wednesday, November 11th Veterans Day rehearsal 12-5pm. (TBD)

CANCELLED: Summer 2020 Workshops

6\25\2020- For the safety and well being of our beloved actors, their families, and our staff, Minerva has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 summer season workshops.  We love you all, and hope to see you in the fall. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay amazing!

 



An Actor’s Around the World: Musical Theater

Explore the techniques used in acting, singing and dancing for musical theater! Actors will hone their
skills in choreography, vocal training, monologues, character and scene studies, and more!

Ages 7 & up
June 29th – July 3rd, 12pm-5pm

Performance: July 3rd  @ 5:00 PM
Workshop Fee: $175

Art of Improv

Explore Improvisational Acting in this one-week workshop. Through a series of games and exercises, students learn the techniques of improv, which are then applied to short-form and long-form improvised scenes.

Ages 7 & up
July 6th – July 10th, 12pm-5pm
Workshop Fee: $175


Gleekers!

Students present an evening of song and dance ranging from Contemporary, Classic, and Broadway hits! During this one week workshop, students and teaching artists create a fully produced performance that will entertain audiences of all ages. Workshop focus on voice and choreography elements of a performance piece, with individual, duets, and ensemble numbers.

Ages 7 & up
July 13th – 17th, 12pm-5pm
Performance: July 17th @ 7pm
Workshop Fee: $175


Little 2 Big Presents…

This multi-age three-week workshop celebrates classic musical theatre with focus on ensemble building, voice and physical technique, and a fully produced production with three performances.

 

Ages 7 & up
July 20th – August 8th 12pm-5pm
Performances: Friday, 8/7 at 11am & 7pm and Saturday, 8/8 at 2pm
Workshop Fee: $525


Once Upon a Time…

A great introduction to the world of theatre for Pre-K and Kindergarteners (ages 3 &up)! Games and exercises develop imagination and play, motor and language skills, focus, teamwork, self-confidence, and acting technique! Text is adapted from beloved Fairy Tales and Classic Fables from around the world!

Pre-K and Kindergarten (Ages 3 & up)
August 10th – August 14th, 10am-5pm
Workshop Fee: $150

Musical Theater Magic Mini-Series

Actors get the chance to star in a series of Musicals: Each weekend, we create a a mini-musical, using scenes and songs from some of Broadway’s most popular titles. This workshop will allow students to develop their “Triple Threat” status, by honing their skills in musical theater, including acting, singing, and dancing.
Each weekend is a stand-alone workshop, so sign-up for one, some, or all weekends!
Workshop Dates: Saturdays and Sundays 2-5pm, March 7-8, March 14-15, March 21-22, March 28-29, at The First Congregational Church of Williamstown.
Performances each Sunday at 5pm.

Ages 7 & up.
Workshop Fee: $50 per weekend, or $175 for all four

Winter Production

Winter Play

Actors from Grades 1 and up are invited to join us for this exciting Performance Workshop, which culminates in a full-length staged production from classic literature (play tbd).
Workshop rehearsals will be held at the First Congregational Church, located at 906 Main St. Williamstown, MA.
Workshop will begin January 11th and performances are February 14th and 15th.
Rehearsals are scheduled for Saturday afternoons from 1 PM to 5 PM and Sunday afternoons from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Rehearsal dates are as follows: Jan 11th, 12th, 18th 19th, 20th*, 25th, 26th, Feb 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th. (Tech week Feb. 10th-13th TBD)
*Monday January 20th MLK Day rehearsal 12-5pm.
Grades 1st – 12th
Performances: Friday, February 14th at 7pm, and Saturday, February 15th at 2pm & 7pm.
Tuition: $275

Spring Training Workshops 2019

Have fun and hone your skills in one of these exciting workshops.  Great for new or experienced actors, these workshops focus on technique and training.

Die Laughing: Combat & Clown for the Whole Family

A great way to spend an April “Stay-Cation” with the whole family!  Parents and Children play together while learning the basics of hand-to-hand stage combat, as well as basic clown technique, from a master of Commedia dell’arte.

We welcome any number of attendees from each family.

Workshop Dates:  Monday – Friday 10am-3pm, April 15 – 19, at The First Congregational Church of Williamstown.  There will be a one hour lunch break each day from 12-1pm.  Workshop attendees are welcome to stay for the hour, or if you need to run an errand, you can do that too 🙂

Ages 7 & up.

Workshop Fee: $200 first attendee per family, $175 for second attendee, $150 each additional attendee.
